Donor Bill Of Rights
The Rosewood Manor Care Foundation knows that donors are vital to fulfilling our mission. To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the general public, and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence the Rosewood Manor Care Foundation, we believe that donors who interact with us are entitled to the following rights:
- To be informed of the organization's mission, of the way the organization intends to use donated resources, and of its capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.
- To be informed of the identity of those serving on the organizations governing board, and to expect the board to exercise prudent judgment in its stewardship responsibilities.
- To have access to the organization's most recent financial statements.
- To be assured their gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were given.
- To receive appropriate acknowledgment and recognition.
- To be assured that information about their donation is handled with respect and with confidentiality to the extent provided by law.
- To expect that all relationships with individuals representing our organization will be professional in nature.
- To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers, employees or hired solicitors.
- To have the opportunity for their names to be deleted from mailing lists that an organization may intend to share.
- To feel free to ask questions when making a donation and to receive prompt, truthful and forthright answers.
- All donors (individuals, corporations, and foundations) are entitled to receive an official receipt for income tax purposes for the amount of the donation. Donors of non-monetary eligible gifts (or gifts-in-kind) are entitled to receive an official receipt that reflects the fair market value of the gift.
- Donors will be encouraged to seek independent advice if the charity has any reason to believe that a proposed gift might significantly affect the donor’s financial position, taxable income, or relationship with other family members.
- Donors’ requests to remain anonymous will be respected.
The Rosewood Manor Care Foundation respects the privacy and protection of our donors. We recognize the importance of privacy and are committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality and security of your personal information. We do not sell or trade any personal information.
